between science, community and institutions to build the future of the sea together
Smart Bay Santa Teresa is a platform for observation, research and technological experimentation in the coastal marine environment, located in the Bay of Lerici. Born from the collaboration between scientific bodies, institutions and local actors, the Smart Bay integrates advanced sensing, digital infrastructure and ecological restoration projects to combine innovation and sustainability, in the context of the European LTER and EMBRC networks.
The Nov. 27 conference represents a key moment to share visions, experiences and future prospects related to the development of the Observatory and its ability to generate concrete impacts for the Gulf of La Spezia.
The day will be structured into thematic sessions dedicated to:
- scientific and digital infrastructure,
- territorial alliances,
- Sustainable production chains,
- Environmental education and inclusion.
Ample space will be devoted to public participation, with interactive moments, digital tools for active involvement and activities aimed at enhancing the contribution of students, citizens and local stakeholders.
An opportunity to network, listen to different viewpoints, and build together the future of the Smart Bay as a lever of blue development and a shared laboratory between science, community, and nature.
