Meeting in Cyprus of the SAFE – CITIES project.

On the dates between October 10 and 12, we had the privilege of participating in the SAFE-CITIES Consortium meeting in Larnaca, Cyprus. In close collaboration with Ianus Consulting, the Ministry of Interior of Cyprus and the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos,” we organized a workshop with 15 local stakeholders representing civil society organizations and institutions in Cyprus, focused on improving community participation in securing public spaces. The workshop also aimed to analyze the safety and risk culture in Cyprus and to implement the methodologies developed by the project on a specific case study in one of the pilot areas. The SAFE-CITIES project’s mission is to protect public spaces by introducing a state-of-the-art security and vulnerability assessment framework, all supported by an interactive platform, which enables the simulation of complex scenarios, taking into account crowd behavior and various types of potential threats. This framework paves the way for actionable recommendations to improve the security of our current and future public spaces. Our commitment to making public spaces increasingly safe is ongoing. We are proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to sharing further updates on our progress. Together we can build safer communities!
