First day of meetings with local institutions and cultural operators and citizens of the Gorizia area after the great success of the questionnaire “Project Proposals,” launched by the City of Gorizia with the support of ISIG to stimulate the ideas and projects of cultural operators and citizens of the Isonzo area in view of the candidacy of Nova Gorica and Gorizia as European Capital of Culture. This second phase of the citizenship involvement process is articulated in a series of thematic exchange meetings focused on the four main axes of the candidacy: Communication, Languages and Idioms; History and Memory; Environment; and European Dimension. Once again we can only thank the cultural workers who participated, further testifying to the vibrancy of the area’s cultural life and offerings. Today, in the meetings dedicated to Communication (linguistic, cultural, etc.), we reasoned about local linguistic specificities, possible experiments in passive bilingualism and trilingualism, but also about the “universal” communicative potential of art, dance and music. And tomorrow we start again with two meetings dedicated to History and Memory.
