Tested in La Réunion the new ATLAS of Empowerment: first positive feedbacks

Workshop and platform testing

The workshop held in La Réunion was an important development phase for theATLAS of Empowerment, implemented by ISIG as part of the European project Synergies.

ATLAS is a civic engagement hub for disaster resilience and preparedness: an interactive and user-friendly platform designed to support individuals, communities, and institutions in their preparedness, management, and risk reduction efforts.

During the meeting, local stakeholders and project partners tested the first version of the platform, focusing in particular on the Strategy Builder module, which transforms community needs into contextualized operational strategies.

First feedback from users

Early feedback collected highlights the effectiveness of the platform:

  • 82% of participants found self-assessment helpful in setting local priorities
  • 74% appreciated the flexibility of the proposed solutions, adaptable to different contexts
  • 68% requested tools to facilitate collaboration between territories and institutions

These results confirm the validity of ATLAS as a key tool for building shared resilience strategies, responding concretely to the needs of communities.

The project, funded by the European Union under the Horizon program, will continue with additional workshops in several locations, including Malta and Rotterdam, to further refine and adapt the tools developed.
