Europe and borders
2014, April 4, Gorizia, FISC, Voce Isontina
As part of the FISC National Convention (Gorizia, April 3 – 5), this meeting is proposed as an opportunity to reflect on the future of Europe and the idea of a “Common European Home” just weeks before the European Elections and 100 years after the beginning of World War I.
Two focuses of the conference will be:
– a special look at the Balkan area as the place where “it all began” a century ago, to bring out the opportunities Europe realizes as a space of peace
– a broader reflection on the European Union, aimed at illustrating the benefits of common membership but also the challenges it faces today, especially in light of new waves of euroskepticism
The initiative will be attended by FISC journalists and 200 high school students from Gorizia.
When: Friday, April 4, 10 a.m.
