Period: 2025-2026
Description: The 2025-2026 cycle of ELoGE in Italy aims to promote the quality of local governance by supporting municipalities in conducting structured self-assessments based on the Council of Europe’s 12 Principles of Good Democratic Governance. Coordinated by AICCRE and supported by ISIG, the program focuses on capacity building, strategic engagement of municipalities and peer learning. It also aims to consolidate a national community of practice around democratic governance, encouraging municipalities to benchmark their performance and strengthen a culture of transparency, participation and accountability.
ISIG provides scientific and methodological assistance to AICCRE and participating municipalities throughout the program. This includes preparing and continuously refining ELoGE tools (benchmarks, questionnaires, guidelines), designing and facilitating capacity-building workshops (both online and in-person), and supporting the involvement of new municipalities. ISIG also assists in the monitoring and analysis of self-evaluation processes, coordinates the evaluation phase with the National Evaluation Platform, and contributes to the production of communication materials and the organization of the national awards ceremony. His role ensures methodological consistency and promotes the visibility and impact of ELoGE in all Italian regions.
