Period: 2026-2028
CRESO is a project funded by the Interreg Italy-France Maritime that addresses the common cross-border challenge related to coastal management in the context of climate change.
The program area is characterized by increasing anthropogenic pressure on coastal areas due to both production activities and tourism and social dynamics. Added to this are the effects of climate change, which are changing the intensity and frequency of extreme events, making it increasingly urgent to adapt coastal planning and management strategies with medium- and long-term time horizons (2050-2100).
The project develops innovative knowledge and tools for assessing the risks and impacts of climate change on coastal areas, considering not only physical forcings-such as sea level rise and storm surges-but also the consequences on the socioeconomic fabric and marine ecosystems. The analysis is conducted through different future climate change scenarios, with the goal of supporting more informed and resilient planning for coastal areas.
The role of ISIG
Within the CRESO project, the Institute was commissioned by the University of Genoa to support communication activities, contributing to the enhancement and dissemination of activities and results.
In particular, he is responsible for the design and production of communication and dissemination materials, management of the project’s social channels, and support to partners in the preparation and implementation of project events. It also supports the partnership in organizing the final event, contributing to its preparation and coordination of related communication activities, with the aim of ensuring effective dissemination of the project results.
