Period: 2004-2005
Partner: The FLOODsite project team includes 37 organizations from 13 different countries. See: www.floodsite.net/html/project_team.htm
Description: The FLOODsite project deals with the physical, environmental, ecological and socioeconomic aspects of flooding from rivers, estuaries and the sea. Considers flood risk as a combination of hazard sources, pathways and consequences of flooding on “receptors”-people, property and the environment. Flood risk management is a process that includes pre-flood prevention, risk mitigation measures and preparedness, supported by flood management actions during and after an event. Floods often cross international borders, and so must risk management research. In the project, research on these topics is integrated through decision support technologies.
ISIG is responsible for interviews, semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, research on flood risk perception, vulnerability, post-event recovery in case studies in the Italian Alps.
