A milestone built together with ISIG
There are ideas that arise spontaneously, during informal meetings, and become concrete projects through collaboration and a willingness to get involved. At first they seem too big, too ambitious, perhaps too fast to become reality. But all it takes is someone to say, “Why not? Let’s give it a try.“
From that moment an exciting journey began.
Last July, starting with an action plan co-designed with the municipal administration, ISIG developed the official candidacy of Cividale del Friuli for UNESCO’s Global Network of Learning Cities. It was a real marathon: an intense week of writing, comparing and revising together with the City’s Culture Office, working with determination and a shared energy.
After months of waiting and verification, the confirmation we had hoped for arrived in December:
Cividaledel Friuli is officially one of the UNESCO Learning Cities 2025.
This is an extraordinary achievement, placing Cividale among only two Italian cities selected this year, along with Brescia.
We are proud to have helped turn a visionary idea into a complete and successful bid, quickly and with a strong spirit of collaboration.
And now the journey continues: this recognition opens up new opportunities to build a city that learns, grows and engages its community.
