Council of Europe publishes EDURES toolkit: ISIG signs scientific development in collaboration with CoE

We are proud to announce that the Council of Europe has officially published theEDURES – Resilience Toolkit to Ensure the Right to Education in Times of Emergencies and Crises, a new tool designed to help education systems protect the right to learn even in the most difficult times.
This is a valuable achievement that recognizes the need to support schools, students and teachers in the face of ever-increasing crises and changes.

A work developed together with the Council of Europe

ISIG had the honor of developing the scientific part of the toolkit, working closely with the Council of Europe Education Department and the CDEDU – Steering Committee for Education.
A collaborative journey that combined research expertise, strategic vision and a strong social impact orientation.

The pilot phase in Friuli Venezia Giulia

In addition to the scientific design, ISIG coordinated the pilot phase of the toolkit, which was tested in two areas of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
This experimentation enabled:

  • Test the toolkit activities and tools in real-world settings,

  • Collect feedback from students, teachers and institutions,

  • Refine the content with a view to European dissemination.

The results will be presented next November in Strasbourg during the World Forum for Democracy 2025, in a dedicated event that will be attended by a large delegation from Friuli Venezia Giulia: more than 50 people including students, teachers and representatives of local and regional authorities involved in the pilot phase.

Linking local practice to international policy

The EDURES project represents a unique opportunity to connect the experiences of local communities with international education policies.
A pathway that has enabled the co-creation of innovative approaches to educational resilience, reinforcing the idea that the right to inclusive and quality education must be guaranteed under all circumstances, especially during crises and emergencies.

A glimpse into the future

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the partners, students, teachers, and institutions who contributed to the success of this project.
We now look to the next steps in implementing the toolkit across Europe, with the understanding that resilient education is critical to building stronger, more equitable, and more future-capable societies.
