How do we ensure the safety and security of public spaces during events in Nova Gorica and Gorica for the cross-border European Capital of Culture GO!2025? This is the question we will address through the fourth pilot activity within the SAFE-CITIES project, a Horizon Europe project working toward a risk-based approach to protecting public spaces in European cities. Hosted at our headquarters, representatives from the Municipality of Gorica, the Red Cross of Gorica, the Municipality of Nova Gorica, the National Police of Slovenia, and ISIG met in a planning and coordination meeting to strategize and collaborate on the successful implementation of the pilot project. The project demonstration will aim to present and validate the solutions of SAFE-CITIES, including aspects related to cross-border cooperation in processes related to public space safety planning.
