ISIG hosted the workshop “A Participatory Approach to Implementing Cross-Border Cooperation.” This event brought together over 20 experts and stakeholders to exchange best practices and explore innovative strategies to improve the safety of public spaces through effective cross-border cooperation. Born out of the experience of the SAFE CITIES project activities, and in particular of the Local Citizens Networks (LCNs) established in Gorizia-Nova Gorica and Larnaca (Cyprus), the workshop focused on presenting best practices related to improving the safety of public spaces through participatory processes with a focus on cross-border cooperation. The workshop included an interactive session that promoted dynamic discussion and collaboration among participants to map challenges related to public safety (especially at the cross-border level) and identify feasible solutions and concrete actions to overcome these challenges. We are grateful to all participants for their contributions and look forward to continuing this essential dialogue to improve the safety and security of our cities for all!
