On Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3, twenty-five mayors from Friuli Venezia Giulia gathered at Spessa Castle for the first part of the “Leadership Academy Program,” an initiative funded by the Council of Europe and implemented by AICCRE FVG in collaboration with ISIG.
Over the course of the two days, local administrators debated, in the presence of Regional Councillor Sebastiano Callari, in a training course recognized at the European level on the issues and tools of good democratic governance. The work was coordinated by Alina Tatarenko, head of the Governance Division at the General Directorate of the Council of Europe.
The initiative, which will continue in the second event on Dec. 16 and 17, is in line with the activities developed in recent years in the region, starting with the ELoGE Program, the European Governance Recognition Mark, awarded to 16 deserving municipalities in the region based on the application of the 12 Principles of Good Democratic Governance.
