The end of LAP in Finland

It is with great pleasure that we announce the end of the LAP Academy in Finland, a country that has hosted us several times in the past months!

This LAP in its Finnish edition was developed through a partnership with HAUS kehittämiskeskus Oy / HAUS Finnish Institute of Public Management Ltd. This program, part of the Council of Europe and European Union project, was carried out with the support of ISIG’s expert trainers. It began in the spring of 2023 and culminated in the third and final phase held in Finland between November 7 and 9. Here is a perspective from one of our LAP participants! Embracing Excellence: Our journey began with the essence of a quality town hall that truly resonates with its citizens. It is about creating a vibrant community where every voice matters. Knowledge Enrichment: We immersed ourselves in the theory of democratic governance, understanding how to serve with integrity and transparency. Future-Oriented Thinking: The module on scenario planning opened our eyes to foresight, equipping us with the tools to shape the future of our communities. Bringing Talents Together: From all corners of Finland, we connected with talented professionals, developing skills and networks.

Global Wisdom: The exchange of ideas and perspectives with international experts was inspiring. We were introduced to tools for fostering civic participation. Beyond Projects: This training was a tool to inspire us to look beyond mere projects and embody the principles of good democratic governance. Commitment to Growth: The commitment required was substantial, but the understanding of different perspectives and practical tools will undoubtedly enrich our daily work. Proactive Application: The knowledge gained is to be shared. We are actively incorporating the lessons of the program to influence both colleagues and elected officials within our town halls. Inspiring Dialogues: Our discussions were inspiring, especially when exploring how to engage citizens in social services and address challenges beyond administrative boundaries. Empowering Returns: Each session was a source of empowerment, reminding us that personal development fuels our professional lives. A Coherent Journey: The transition from personal growth to organizational impact and ultimately to citizen engagement was an enlightening journey. Continuous Learning: We have embraced the ethos that we are constantly challenging ourselves, and our leadership is self-aware and committed to self-improvement. Shared Challenges: Discovering that our challenges are shared across regions and roles has been a profound relief. A Heartfelt Thank You: We are immensely grateful for this opportunity for self-development, which has not only shaped us as public servants but also as custodians of the public trust. Thank you to everyone who made this journey possible.

We return to our roles as inspired leaders ready to make a lasting impact!
