Representatives from 12 pilot communities in Armenia, during a week-long workshop activity, learned how to conduct an in-depth analysis of their administration’s preparedness and capacity to respond to emergency situations (e.g., Covid-19 pandemic, environmental disasters and conflict situations), based on the methodology of the Centre of Expertise for Good Governance’s (CEGG) new “Resilience Building Strategies (ReBuS) Toolkit.”
The workshops, coordinated by ISIG researchers, guided participants through stakeholder mapping and assessment activities toward the creation of a community resilience task force. They have strengthened their skills to assess resilience within their communities with the aim of setting long-term goals to improve their preparedness and ensure that their communities can be prepared for future crises.
These workshops were organized as part of the project “Democratic Development, Decentralsiation and Good Governance in Armenia,” funded by the Austrian Development Agency and implemented in the context of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia 2019-2022.
