Content: The Forum of European Border Towns of Isig, presents in this issue some results of the activities taking place there: theoretical reflections, comparative research, case analyses, projection to the future of cultural contexts of the past such as Mitteleuropa. The themes naturally revolve around the border. Yet it is not only a matter of political boundaries, for, if you will, all of modernity and related processes have caused boundaries to be raised everywhere, with the caveat that these new and many boundaries progressively lost their impenetrability, and indeed became a source of creativity and even positivity.
