We are proud to announce the first results of the EDURES Pilot Project, an initiative coordinated by the Council of Europe, the Education, Orientation and Right to Study Service of the Central Directorate for Labor, Training, Education and Family of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, and implemented with the scientific support of ISIG.
Following the adoption of the resolution “On Education in Times of Emergency and Crisis” by the Ministers of Education of the 46 CoE member countries, since spring 2024 six schools in the Tolmezzo and Cividale del Friuli areas have been actively involved in “piloting” the EDURES toolkit created by the Education Department of the Council of Europe and ISIG, developed to ensure access to inclusive and quality education even in times of emergency and crisis.
Friuli Venezia Giulia is the first territory, among those of Council of Europe member countries, to implement this pilot project, demonstrating its pioneering commitment to resilient education.
Participation and Collaboration: The Key to Success
The active participation of students, local governments and Civil Defense is enabling increased applicability and effectiveness of the Toolkit, integrating new perspectives and innovative solutions for the development of community resilience practices. The assessment will continue throughout the summer, culminating in a sharing and exchange meeting in October, where all local stakeholders will collaborate to develop strategies to increase the resilience of the pilot areas.
The collective efforts of schools, municipalities, Civil Defense and students demonstrate how crucial a collaborative, multi-stakeholder approach is to developing resilient educational environments. We will continue to work together to ensure a better future for all.
