Content: The need for a multidisciplinary approach in order to fully understand the concept of European integration was the main objective of the 15th International Summer School “Innovation and Creativity. New solutions to the challenges of the new Europe” (Gorizia, 7-19/09 2009). The focus was the study of integrated, multidisciplinary and participatory methods and tools, within which the production of new knowledge and its effective sharing are considered essential to support innovative civil society dynamics and proactive policy formulation. Working groups were organized among participants to jointly develop the original papers presented here.
