Description: Research and design activities as part of the MAppERS (Mobile Applications for Emergency Response and Support) Project, which aims to identify gaps in the information exchange system, in terms of spatial knowledge, risk prevention and emergency. Through the development of a smartphone application-which enables the sharing, between the population and civil defense operators, of precise information, localized via GPS, on risk situations-the citizen becomes a “watchdog of the territory.” The entire design process, through citizen input, involved in land control training, meets the long-term goal of creating public involvement and participation in risk management.
