Description: The project (funded by the Interreg ALCOTRA program) aims to increase the knowledge of technicians, local administrators and the general public on the issue of dams, which is crucial for mountainous cross-border territories (Italy – France), both in terms of management and prevention of related risks.
The project aims to develop a system for vulnerability assessment and monitoring of barrages and to involve and raise awareness among the population exposed to the risk of collapse.
ISIG activities: ISIG will contribute to the assessment of the resilience of stakeholders (i.e., 14 municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Turin involved in the T. Sangone river contract) in the participatory civil protection plans, through stakeholder mapping and analysis with application of the Council of Europe’s “Civil participation toolkit” methodology; elaboration of the ReSVI (Relative Social Vulterability index); implementation of the Sea (Social Vulnerability Assessment) analysis; definition of integrated and operational tools to support planning through participatory paths.
