Description: The basic objective of the project is to establish joint strategies and approaches in the Adriatic states, with the intention of promoting the culture of equality and non-discrimination as a fundamental value for the peaceful coexistence of all people, regardless of origin, religion, ethnicity.
Under the project, ISIG develops cross-border and cross-sectoral research activities to: 1) describe the state of the art of the existing legal framework on the protection/promotion/rights of ethnic minorities in the Adriatic area and their effective implementation; 2) analyze ethnic groups in terms of self-representation and majority-minority relations, 3) identify the role of ethnic minorities in shaping inter-state relations in the Adriatic area. The specific objective is to provide the necessary tools for the development of the Adriatic Action Plan to promote and enhance minority groups and for the establishment of a permanent Adriatic Observatory of minority communities, based in Istria.
