Description: Implementation of a project to improve the quality, safety and environmental sustainability of maritime and coastal transport services by promoting multimodality.
Overall Goal: Promotion of multimodality in the Adriatic coast and hinterland in order to reduce car traffic (carbon emissions) and thus to improve the environmental sustainability of maritime and coastal transport services.
Specific objectives:
- Improving modal transportation services between the coast and the hinterland;
- Realization of new (tourism-oriented) maritime connections between Italian and Croatian urban centers;
- Implementation of small-scale infrastructure (e.g., bike share systems, electric vehicle charging stations) according to the specific needs of each area involved.
Main results:
- 10 new and eco-friendly multimodal passenger transport services;
- 1 new sea link between Italy and Croatia (Caorle – Porec);
- 1 jointly developed cross-border guide for smart design and integration of sustainable mobility solutions in coastal areas.
