Content: The scenarios that transportation helps shape in society and in the organization of space constitute the theme of this issue. The approach is both technical, for the means of transportation considered, and social and economic, for the needs that they must best meet. The first part deals with the relationship between types and styles of mobility and their compatibility with environmental protection. The second part captures the relationship of means of transportation (car, rail, airplane and subway) to the reorganization of the land that they require. The last part develops the themes of possible technological changes in future transportation in relation to changes in daily life.
