Content: The gradual dismantling of major geopolitical barriers, the acceleration of trade and financial integration processes, and the slowdown in economic growth this past decade have awakened the attention of observers and reopened the discussion on the relationship between development and opportunity, which often takes the form of the relationship between development and the distribution of income and wealth in relations between different areas of the world. Instead, the labor market, which faces the dilemma between growth and employment, constitutes a privileged vantage point and a stern tribunal for those who wish to judge the quality of a development path.
The relationship between development and employment is examined, in this issue of Futuribili, by scholars from different disciplines, who avail themselves of the contribution of “toolboxes” pertaining to different scientific and disciplinary universes.
